This Tuscan red comes from vines planted in 2006, growing in light sandy soils with compact grey clay just below the surface. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel with 10–15% whole clusters. This wine highlights the true character of the Ciliegiolo grape showing vibrant red fruit, lively acidity, and a pure, expressive profile. Although typically used as a blending grape, this Ciliegiolo is a great expression of the varietal on its own. Its name, meaning “cherry-like,” perfectly captures its flavor. While its genetic origin is disputed, Ciliegiolo is believed to be either a parent or a descendant of Sangiovese.
