Casa Jipi, pronounced hippie, started as a clear example of “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”, (or wine, in their particular case). Times of crisis brought together two families and gave birth to this incredible project that binds together Rancho Llano Colorado, one of the region’s most important and sought-after grape producers, Vinícola Bruma, and Lulu Martinez Ojeda, one of the leading winemakers in Mexico. This red, made with 100% Nebbiolo, has a complex nose with notes of blackberry, fresh pepper, menthol, smoked blueberry, and dark chocolate. With a firm but fruity attack, imposing and dense tannic structure, and fresh and aromatic ending, this is a joyful wine. Pair it with lamb, duck, pork roast, a rib eye with black sauce, dark chocolate desserts, and aged cheeses.
