This wine is made from Melon Blanc (also known as Melon de Bourgogne), a variety resulting from a cross between Pinot Blanc and Gouais Blanc. Primarily used to produce dry white wines in the Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine region, it’s considered the standout of the Muscadet appellations in the Loire Valley’s Pays Nantais. Unlike the sweeter, aromatic Muscat grape, Melon Blanc delivers a crisp, dry profile that pairs beautifully with seafood, especially salmon, oysters, scallops, and shrimp.
