Crafted from 100% Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo) grown on 50- to 100-year-old vines, this wine comes from the Buon Consiglio and San Antonio single vineyards in the Grumello subzone of Valtellina. Following an extended 110-day maceration, the wine is aged for 18 months in large 50-hectoliter untoasted casks to preserve varietal purity and site expression. It then rests an additional 24 months in bottle before release. This is a wine of impeccable balance and quiet power, marked by a silky texture and nuanced layers of cherry cola, white licorice root, and blue mountain flower. It also evokes a deeper warmth—think sunlit mountain meadows and heat radiating off slate rock. All of these elements come together in harmony, carrying through to the palate with soft, persistent intensity.
